There is a profoundly grounding clarity that comes with holding a living sapling in your hand鈥攆eeling the cool, dense weight of the soil and root system before placing it permanently into the earth. This particular capture from our DIG initiative represents the tangible intersection of personal purpose and collective action. Standing alongside an incredible team of volunteers on a sun-drenched afternoon, the act of planting trees transcends abstract environmental goals; it is a direct, deliberate investment in the future ecological health of our communities. Every sapling anchored into the soil carries the promise of cleaner air, expanded natural canopy, and lasting beauty for decades to come. Moving from visionary planning into hands-on stewardship reinforces a simple truth: meaningful legacies are built from the ground up, nurtured by shared labor, dedication, and an unshakeable commitment to growing something greater than ourselves.

Here is a fun flashback to a back-to-school night, or maybe just a quick visit, in Wentzville back in 2020. I was wearing my favorite denim jacket and polka dots while snapped this picture. It is so fun to look back at these simple, everyday moments where we were just walking the school halls, checking out the bulletin boards, and being a part of our local community.

Walking around the Wildwood Town Center is one of my favorite ways to spend a sunny Saturday. We grabbed some coffee and just enjoyed looking at the local shops. It is so nice to see families out and about, walking their dogs and enjoying the community. Wildwood really has that perfect small-town feel while still having everything we need.

Brian and Richard took a drive with me through downtown Dresden today to look at the rebuilding progress. Seeing the new structures going up where the 2021 tornado destroyed everything brings tears to my eyes. It takes a lot of hard work to bring a town back from something like that, but the people here just don鈥檛 quit. Richard was pointing out where some of the old shops used to be. We are so proud of how far Dresden has come.

The town of Dresden has been through so much intense rebuilding over the last couple of years after the severe tornado damage. The sheer strength and resilience of this community is truly inspiring to witness. The Moran House stands as a strong, physical reminder of our town鈥檚 ability to weather the storm. My parents always believed deeply in the strong roots of Weakley County, and seeing the historic downtown area slowly come back to life brings a lot of hope to all of us who call this place home.
