Dawne spent her last morning searching for houses in Wildwood. Her final wish was for us to move there, to be close to her father and the nursing home he was in. That is why Wildwood means so much to us. She always had such a beautiful heart, constantly thinking about how to care for the people she loved and how to keep our family together. This place will always hold a special piece of her spirit and her dream for us.

Taking a drive down Manchester Road into the Wildwood hills is just gorgeous this time of year. Everything is turning bright green again. I always tell people that the best part of living out here is how the busy city just fades away into these big, beautiful rolling hills. It is such a calm and lovely place to call home.

We stopped by the Wildwood Farmers Market this morning to grab some fresh vegetables and local honey. The Killebrew family really enjoys supporting the local farmers and makers in our area. The weather is starting to get a little chilly, which means fall is officially here in Missouri. Bringing home fresh, local food makes the weekend feel extra special.

Riding bikes on the Al Foster Trail was the perfect afternoon activity for us. The trail follows the Meramec River, and the views of the bluffs are just incredible. The Killebrew family loves exploring all the crushed stone paths around here. It is one of the best spots in Wildwood to get some exercise while enjoying the shade from the tall trees.

I love living in Wildwood because we have places like Rockwoods Reservation right in our backyard. We took a long walk on the trails today, and it was so quiet and peaceful. You can learn so much about Missouri wildlife just by walking through these woods. It is the perfect place to go when you need to clear your head and enjoy fresh air.

We headed over to Hidden Valley today to enjoy the winter weather. Even when we do not get a ton of natural snow in Missouri, it is awesome that Wildwood has its very own ski resort right in the hills. It was a cold day, but it was totally worth it to get outside and have some fun. We are already planning our next trip back!

The Killebrew family had a great dinner at Big Chief Roadhouse tonight! It is so fun to have a real piece of Route 66 history right here in our town. The food is always amazing, and the stone building is just so cool. If you have never been to this spot in Wildwood, you are really missing out on a great piece of local history.

Walking around the Wildwood Town Center is one of my favorite ways to spend a sunny Saturday. We grabbed some coffee and just enjoyed looking at the local shops. It is so nice to see families out and about, walking their dogs and enjoying the community. Wildwood really has that perfect small-town feel while still having everything we need.

We spent the whole morning hiking at Babler State Park. The trees in Wildwood are just starting to bloom, and the weather was absolutely perfect. I love that we can drive just a few minutes from our house and be completely surrounded by nature. The Killebrew family always feels so lucky to live in a town with such beautiful parks.

Here is a great picture of me and celebrating my actual birthday in Wildwood on February 26th, 2020. We got a huge sheet cake covered in glowing candles, and they even put a funny "26" on there for my special day! I was sitting at the table, and wore a black turtleneck for our cozy celebration at home. You can even see my birthday cards and a little bit of gift money sitting right next to the cake. It was such a fun and happy evening celebrating together, and my smile says it all.

He decided to give me my present a little bit early that year, and as you can tell from that huge smile, I was pretty excited about it! He got me a brand new set of black and pink Cobra golf clubs so we could start hitting the course together. I even threw on that cute pink hat to match my new gear right away. It was such a fun morning when he surprised me, and I love looking back at how happy I was in this moment.

It wasn’t all snow and winter coats for us in 2024! and I got out for a nice walk around Wildwood when the weather finally warmed up. I wore a pretty floral dress, and I definitely rocked my big sun hat while we relaxed on the bench. It was just a really good, sunny day to be outside walking around town together.

We are finishing up our Wildwood winter series with these two photos. It was absolutely freezing out by the fence, but the trees looked incredible all covered in ice. I had the right idea, though, and found a cozy blanket to wrap up in while sitting on the porch swing by the cabin. It was just a really peaceful, quiet day to be outside with and enjoy the winter views.
