Here is another picture of me and hanging out in our kitchen in Wildwood, Missouri back in late June of 2018. I was still wearing my funny blue t-shirt and that bright pink hat with the heart on it. He stepped into the frame right behind me for a quick picture, wearing his glasses and a dark blue shirt. He looks pretty serious in this shot for some reason, but we were honestly just having a relaxing summer day at home together. It is always great to look back at these simple, everyday moments from our life.

I really love this brown velvet jacket I wore for our afternoon walk! It has such pretty flower patterns sewn onto the sleeves and the front, and it felt so comfortable in the sunshine. We found this cool old car to lean on while the sun was shining down on the street. The palm trees in the background made it feel like a perfect day in California. I think my outfit looked really nice with the classic look of the car, and I felt so happy just being out and about. It was such a fun and simple day just exploring and taking pictures. I am so glad we got to see so many neat things during our trip and capture these great memories.

When repairing the exterior brickwork of a historic Dresden home like the Moran House, you cannot simply use modern cement mortar from a hardware store. Old clay bricks are much softer and require a traditional lime-based mortar to allow the walls to naturally breathe and expand with the changing Tennessee weather. If the modern mortar is too hard, it will actually crush and crack the historic bricks over time. It is a very delicate, highly technical chemical process to get that mixture right.
